

Joseph Hartman Sudbrook of Abingdon, Maryland, passed away at Gilchrist Hospice on April 27, 2013 after a short illness. He was born October 9, 1934 in Baltimore to Charles Henry and Ida Virginia (Taylor) Sudbrook. He was retired from the Baltimore City Public Schools, and had also been employed with the Baltimore City Police Department. Joseph is survived by his wife, Paula (Hanes) Sudbrook, daughter Claire Sudbrook-Whitehurst, step-children Donna (Snyder) Rietschy and Ronald Snyder, grandchildren, Ryan, Renae and Adam Whitehurst, Jacob and Emily Rietschy, great grandchildren Arianna and Bentley Whitehurst, sister Shirley Gilday of Connecticut, brother Paul Sudbrook of Sykesville, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Charles (Bucky) Sudbrook, Jr., sisters, Elsie Christopolis, Vera Sudbrook, Annette Harris, and Betty Lou Hoyer. The family would like to thank the staff of Upper Chesapeake Hospital Oncology Department and Gilchrist Hospice for their exceptional care.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 West MacPhail Road Bel Air, Maryland 21014 on Thursday from 6 until 8 pm. Where aservices will be held on Friday at 10 am.
