I will NEVER forget being at your house Kurt. It was Christmas time , and you and all you brothers and sisters put Elvis on and did a dance on the stairs to the song. Funniest thing I ever saw and laughed so hard. Good times Kurt. Praying for your peace and just know I always loved you and always will. RIP

Kurt thought my living room pictures were boring and took the time to find exactly the right ones for me. Then he painted and decorated my bedroom. I never changed anything he did and that was12 years ago. He had great taste and was a great friend. Miss you, Kurt.

After reading what others have shared here about Kurt, I feel blessed to have met him, but knowing how much time we spent together I feel even more grateful for the time we shared. I met Kurt roughly 17 years ago. He wrote one of the most special messages to me before being deployed which meant a lot. Earlier this year he was there to help pick up the pieces after my husband passed away. He was here for me in my darkest days and helped me see the light so many times. I went shopping with Kurt on Tuesday evening and he was very happy, talking about some of the plans and projects he was working on. It came as a total shock to hear what had happened to him and it is very hard to imagine this world without his presence. My dog Kegogi loved him as well, he is one of few people that could keep up with him. We'll both miss him dearly!

My dear friend Kurt, fate kindly placed you into my life. Your beautiful soul and fun loving spirit created such an undeniable close friendship. I'm so incredibly blessed and grateful for that. Our wonderful journey together was quite an adventure to say the least. I'm so sad you went to heaven so soon. I have come to peace as my heart knows you're in God's hands and being reckless with your new wings. You will forever be in my heart. My son and I love you so much!! We choose not to grieve but smile and celebrate your life. Thank you for being you ❤

I am heartsick for those that knew and loved this man. He was my daughter, Shannon's friend and became part of our family. He called me Mom. I won't soon forget the year I was struggling. Kurt called me at midnight on New Year's eve to say he was thinking of me and that it was the start of a new and better year. I'm crying as I write this. He meant the world to me and my family, near and far.

Kurt was always looking out for other people, and would go the extra mile. He was a tremendous help as a boss who didn't abuse his rank and was always at your side. I was honored to know him. If you needed advice or help, at the drop of a hat he was on the job. He showed me that there are still noble people out there that are true to what they say.

Kurt was special. He made everyone around him feel comfortable and cared for. For so many years, he joined our family for dessert on Thanksgiving, for family parties and vacations. Nobody gave better hugs. He will be so missed and when my great-great granchildren are toasting him over Thanksgiving dessert, he will still be remembered.

Dear Kurt,

As I sit and type this my tears are as real as the pain & sorrow I feel that you are gone. We had so many good times & memories I will never forget. It’s not fair that I’ve lost another brother ! It breaks my heart. The only good part is that you’re reunited with Mom & Dude. I love you and will miss you my brother, til we meet again.
Love, Jamie

So many great memories of my friend Kurt. Loved all the Flenner functions you could always keep me laughing! On the cruise in 2017 somehow we missed the final show! So you got up on stage to do your own! You were our star!
A quote I distinctly remember is Slow dancing is a waste of my time and talent! Your fun spirit, quick wit! Your onry personality, your love of life and people. A loving Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend. Gone way too soon. You will be missed greatly ! Until we meet again dear friend.
Love Linda Harrington
