To the Family,Relatives and Friends of Owen,
Please accept our deepest sympathy.  Owen sure was a great guy and a smile for everyone in the class of 61.
We all loved Owen and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

I received a thank you card in the mail today from Owen McGinley's passing. It was such a sweet surprise to find his image amongst all the other mail. A very dignified photo. He was my mother's baby brother, my uncle, my godfather, and a wonderful man. He will always be remembered as the uncle with the most patience for children, the uncle the most fun to be around! I was always told he drove my mother and her mother to the hospital the cold February night that I was born. I hung his Christmas stocking with my own along our staircase for many years when I was young. He lived briefly with my parents and had left it behind. I have a charm bracelet entirely filled from him, though I always knew it was my aunt Jan that bought them. It is still one of my greatest treasures, completed through the years. My most powerful memory of Uncle Ownie was the day we lost our Mom. He came walking down my sister's driveway, unannounced, when he got the word. His arms were outstretched, we each had a hug and a shoulder to cry on. He was the first adult on scene...it felt WONDERFUL!I felt so comforted. Safe. Loved.
To my cousins, I understand your loss, your pain. It is too hard to lose a wonderful loving parent. To my aunt, I wish you eventual peace with the loss of a lifetime partner. I thank all of you, and especially Uncle Ownie for so many wonderful memories.

To Jan and Family, Owen was a wonderful and helpful person.  He did many small and large tasks for the families of the Knights of Columbus.  Surely he will be missed by all.
