Roberto Ascenzi, Sr. born on February 16, 1937, passed away on January 2, 2026, at the age of 88. He was a resident of Bel Air, Maryland. Beloved husband of Diana Victoria Grimmel Ascenzi; Devoted father of Ruggero Luigi Ascenzi (Kelly Ann), Carmela Maria Ascenzi Gemma (Stephen Anthony), Roberto Ascenzi II (Dana Deans), and Diana Gina Ascenzi Falcone (Sergio); Dear brother of Gerlando, Serena, Algeria, Santina, and the late Aldo. Loving Grandfather of Michael (Kelly), Roberto, Joseph (Alexa), Ruggero, Bianca, Diana Victoria (Evan Sr.), Carmela Maria Angela, Roberto III, Filomena, Malania, and the late Pasqua and Annalisa; Cherished Great Grandfather of Kieran, Luciano, Evan II, Lilliana, and Nicolo; Also survived by his nieces Maria (Frank) and Patrizia (Romolo), his brother in law Louis Grimmel (Elaine), his sister in law Mary Frances Bullock (Rodney), and The Mangione and Marchese families.
Roberto was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a semi-pro soccer player, which introduced soccer to the family, avid bocce player, the all-around handyman, and a great family man loved by all.
A Funeral mass will be held at Saint Mark Roman Catholic Church, located at 2407 Laurel Brook Rd, Fallston, MD, 21047, on Thursday January 8, 2026, starting at 11:00 am.
Interment to follow at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens, situated at 200 E Padonia Rd, Timonium, MD, 21093.
