Archie Ray Herndon, Sr., 80, of Belton, Mo., passed away October 2, 2011. Memorial visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at McGilley & George Funeral in Belton. Inurnment at a later date in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo. Archie was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Union, Mo., to Ivan and Francis Hobbleman Herndon. He was a retired Army Staff Sgt. Survived by wife, Loraine; son, Archie Herndon, Jr. and wife Shannon, Belton; brother, Norman Herndon, Kearney, Mo.; two sisters, Wilma Erbs and Sandy Light, both of St. Claire, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kristy, Keely and Kyler.
