Charley grew up on a farm outside of Naylor, Missouri. At the age of seventeen he left home and moved to Rockford, Illinois. He joined the Air Force August 17, 1951 at the age of eighteen, in 1954 he served in Korea. After serving 20 years Charley retired August 1971. Charley worked as a cook in several restaurants in the Kansas City area and retiring in 1992.
He is survived by sons, Charley McNeely Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri and Teddy MeNeely of Belton, Missouri; brother, Joe McNeely of Denver, Colorado; niece, Valeria NcNeely and nephew, Jerry McNeely.
