Janice Lee Majewski, age 74, of Belton, Missouri passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri following a brief illness. She was born in Paola, Kansas, March 22, 1949 to James R. and Eva Mitchell. She moved to Belton, Missouri in 1960 and graduated from Mt. St. Scholastica in Atchison, Kansas in 1968.
Some of Jan's interests and passions included caring for her beloved cocker spaniels, plants and flowers, cooking and baking (she could make a purple ribbon peach or blackberry cobbler), jigsaw puzzles, and challenging Sam in a game of cards or dominoes.
As a proud patriot and military wife, she had a great appreciation for our flag, country and all who served our country.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Sam Majewski of Belton; sister Pat Goodrich; niece Jill Ekhlas; great-nieces and nephews Dahria, Jake and Ryan Ekhlas and Tammy Ekhlas Donkor all of Atlanta, Georgia; and a myriad of cousins from coast to coast. A special thank you to cousins Mary and Steve Barnes for being such good and faithful servants through out her final time of need. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
