Joyce Elaine Thomas, 76, Belton, Mo., passed away August 4, 2015. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, funeral service 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut, Belton. Burial in the Belton Cemetery. Joyce was born Feb. 15, 1939, in Center Hill, Fla. She was an operating engineer at Honeywell for 42 years, retiring Aug. 1, 2014. Joyce was a member of VFW Post Auxiliary 8220. Preceded in death by her parents, James Riley May, Sr. and Mary Louise Schonherr May, two daughters, Patricia Johnson and Lisa Shive; son, Lawrence Shive. Survived by son, William Shive, Kansas City Mo.; daughters, Sharon (William) Grandi, Preston, Mo., Karen (Ronnie) Lines, Belton and Susan Shive, Belton; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
