Sandi loved to travel and enjoyed many, many great trips with friends and family. She was an avid reader and loved a good book, often sharing her favorites with others. Sandi had the kindest heart and was so giving to others. One of her greatest qualities was that material things were not important to her, but the happiness of others was! She LOVED the KC Chiefs, the KC Royals and Diet Coke with NO ice!!! Playing cards and games was a favorite pastime, she had a real competitive streak! She loved animals and had many pets over the years, including all the outside birds she made Phil feed!
In 2010 she reconnected with Phillip Rogers whom she had dated in 1964 in Okinawa, Japan. He reached out to her and they were married a year later, Sandi said she'd been waiting for his call! They enjoyed 14 years of marriage. In the past 3 years Sandi's health required her moving to Beautiful Saviour Nursing Center where Phil almost became a permanent resident himself, spending the entire day with Sandy EVERY DAY!!! They enjoyed Thursday afternoon Bingo together.
