Carol C. Frey 68 of Citrus Springs, Florida died on Friday, April 13, 2018. She was born in Gainesville, Florida on Thursday, June 23, 1949 to Lloyd and Virginia (Wilder) Cason. Carol grew up in Cedar Key, Florida and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 18. She was a Corporal and served during the Vietnam Conflict. After returning to the states, she attended Daytona Beach Community College, where she earned her degree in registered nursing. She worked at the VA Hospital in Lake City and in Gainesville and at the Tallahassee Community Hospital. Carol enjoyed traveling, especially cruising.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Dick Cason.
Survivors include her husband Donald W. Frey of Citrus Springs, Florida; son, Matthew Conner of Columbus, Ohio and sisters, Joy Kent of Orlando, Florida and Sue Strickland of Lake City, Florida.
Visitation, Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at 10:00 AM with Chapel Service at 11:00 AM at Fero Funeral Home. Interment with Military Honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513.
