Frederick M. Meyer, age 86, of Beverly Hills, Florida, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Citrus Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on October 10, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan. After graduating from Michigan State University, he was employed for many years by the state of Michigan, retiring in 1989. He was a resident of Citrus County for the past 23 years. He loved playing cards and golf. In his later years, you could find him in his recliner playing Yahtzee. Fred was preceded in death by his brother John, father John, mother Beatrice, sister-in-law Corrinne, niece Linda Nisse-Meyer, and brother-in-law Jerry Cosgrove. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley; daughter Gail (Al) Wavering of Germantown, Maryland, son Mark of Mountain View, California, daughter Terri (Brett) Richmond of Lansing, Michigan; sister Mary Cosgrove of Scarsdale, New York; four grandchildren, Jessica Hammond, Albert Wavering, Emily (Kevin) Corcoran, and Jack (Katrina) Wavering; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Hammond and Aine and Fiadh Corcoran; and many nieces and nephews. Services to be announced at a later date, to be held in East Lansing, Michigan.
