Harvey Ronald Deem departed this world to take up duties at his final post on December 4, 2020.
Once a Marine, always a Marine, Harvey served 30 years in the US Marine Corps, with an earlier two year stint in the US Army (until they discovered he was only 17 years old).
Gravely injured in Vietnam, he was awarded the Purple Heart, and the Vietnam Huy Chu'o'g Danh Du', Medal of Honor which was awarded to only 57 marines.
Harvey Deem was born August 1, 1936 in Pennsylvania and left home at an early age. He spend the final 38 years of his life in Hernando, Florida.
Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Patricia of 33 years, 2 sons and a daughter in New York, 3 step-daughters, Hollie, Renae, and Jenny, 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harvey Deem was an elder at the House of Power Church, Hernando, FL., and a life member of the VFW. He was an avid fisherman and hunter all of his life.
A memorial service will be held at the House of Power Church on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 10:30 am, with a fellowship following at the Church, Bishop George R. Dehn officiating.
