John A. Tomasheski Jr.

John Adam Tomasheski, Jr., 82 of Hernando, Florida passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011. He was born in Hazelton, Pennsylvania on Monday, November 26, 1928 to John Adam and Bertha G. (Smalley) Tomasheski, Sr. John served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from Westinghouse in Bridgeport, Connecticut after 30 years. Retiring to Beverly Hills, Florida, he then went to work for the Citrus County Sheriff's office in Crime Prevention. Upon retiring from the Sheriff's office, he volunteered for the Beverly Hills Surveillance Unit. John was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and a fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus Assembly #1547. He was a 25 year member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge #2693 and held memberships with the Citrus County Shooting Club, the Beverly Hills Recreational Association, the American Legion Post #0155, the NRA, the Beverly Hills Civic Association, the Beverly Hills Fishing Club and the V.F.W. Post #10087 of Beverly Hills.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Tomasheski of Hernando, Florida; son, John A. Tomasheski, III and wife Abby of West Palm Beach, Florida; step son, Larry Whaley and wife Tricia of Velma, Oklahoma; step daughter, Patricia Marchesani and husband John of Hernando, Florida; brothers, Chester Tomasheski and wife Virginia of Marlabar, Florida and Richard Tomasheski and wife Dorothy of Valencia, California; sister, Ann Feld of Boynton Beach, Florida; grandsons, Jason Tomasheski and wife Jessica and John A. Tomasheski, IV; step grandson, James Denice and wife Jennifer; step granddaughters, Donna Kilcrease and husband James, Sharon Orth and husband Bob and Heather Kelliopoulas and husband Basile; step greatgrandchildren, Matthew Alvarez, Bobby Orth and Madeline Orth and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service of Remembrance will be announced at a later date. Anyone wishing to make a donation, please do so in John's name to the American Heart Association.
