

Margaret A. Cady (85) of Beverly Hills, FL (formally of Horseheads NY) passed away on December 6, 2025, after an extended illness. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband William of 64 years, son Raymond (Lori) of Horseheads, NY, and daughter Teresa (Howard) Thomas-Giese of Beverly Hills, FL. Margaret is also survived by granddaughters Stephanie Cady of Horseheads, NY, Caitlin (Michael) Oris-Lee of Tavares, FL, Valerie (Travis) Patocka of Horseheads, NY, Melanie Cady (fiancé Alex) of Harpursville, NY and great grandchildren Natalie and Bennett Patocka. Additionally, Margaret is survived by Patricia McGraw, (sister-in-law), niece Jenny (Greg) Mathis, great niece Sarah (Caleb) and great-great nephew Alastair. Margaret’s furry papillon, Marie misses her greatly as she was a constant companion and source of peace during the last couple of years.
Margaret was a retired elementary school teacher from Elmira City School District. She taught multiple grades for 25 years at Diven, Booth and Hendy schools. Margaret enjoyed camping in her and Bill’s motorhome, downhill skiing in Colorado, NY, and Vermont and scuba diving in the Caribbean and Hawaii. She and Bill travelled extensively and enjoyed numerous adventures together. Margaret was a prize-winning quilter, an avid birder and a member of the Chemung Valley Audubon Society.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Margarets name to the charity of your choice or to tone of the following charities that Margaret supported: Chemung Valley Audubon Society, Natl. Audubon Society and Alzheimer’s Association.
