

Paul Kirkland Legister entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2026. He was born on February 17, 1984 in the Bronx, NY to Earl Legister, Sr. and Paulette Legister. When he was born, the attending physician told his mother that she wanted a child to take home, that was just as handsome as Paul. Apparently, he was born with the gift of charm.
Paul was the fourth child and the second son. He attended primary school at P.S.121 in Bronx, NY and then transitioned his education within in the Beacon City School District in the Hudson Valley region of NY. Upon graduating from high school he attended Dutchess Community College where he studied computer science. Paul was employed by IBM in Fishkill, NY. He worked there for a number of years, and then he landed other positions in various companies throughout the Hudson Valley region.
As a young man Paul kept his sights on living a fun fulfilled life and chasing his dreams. He was an active child who played soccer and basketball. Paul loved to write poetry and he loved music. He sang in the Sunshine band at his local church. He would later combine his love of music and poetry, to become a burgeoning young rap artist known as “Poetic.” He was a part of an R&B group called “M.O.E.T” (Men Of Excellent Taste) underneath Big Fish productions based in Harlem, NY. where he exercised his creative direction and collaborations with other various artists and attended TV shows. He loved cooking, entertaining, sports and traveling.
In 2023, Paul eventually settled in Florida where he resided with his mother, and later gravitated to Jacksonville, FL as he sought new job opportunities and endeavors. Paul enjoyed the warm weather, sandy beaches and blissful sunsets.
Paul is survived by his mother, Paulette; his children, Kieana, Jovan, Aidon, and Major; his sisters, Camille, Christine, and Patricia; his brothers Earl “PJ” Legister, Jr., and Sean; his nephews Jeffrey, Julian, Timothy, Zion, and Maverick; his niece Jalynn; sister-in laws, Janel and Lindsey; and brother-in-laws, Dean and Andrew. He was predeceased by his father, the late Earl P. Legister, Sr.
He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins throughout the US, England and Jamaica, and friends who adore him. We will all miss his charm, smile, laughter, and loving demeanor. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and rise in Glory! We love you Paul Kirkland Legister, Forever in our hearts….Rest easy, dear one.
A visitation will be held on February 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, located at 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
A celebration of life will follow at the same venue from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
The committal service will take place at Fero Memorial Gardens, 5891 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
A reception will be held afterward at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm.
