He was born in Winnfield, Louisiana on December 11, 1953. Richard graduated from Boone High School and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida. On December 15, 2001, he married Susan Elizabeth Gately. Richard worked in print/media for the Wall Street journal for 27 years. He was a member of the Republican Party and the NRA, and he had a passion for his grandson Sam, hunting, and the Florida Gators. Richard is survived by his daughter, Kelly Marie; his grandson, Samuel Everett; his sisters, Debbie (Tom), Jeannie (Gary), and Dona (Joe). He was preceded in death by his sister, Gayle, and his brother, Joe. Funeral arrangements will be decided at a later date and time.
