Richard L. Porter, 83 of Citrus Springs, Florida, died Monday, January 18, 2016. Richard was born in Fawn Township, Pennsylvania on September 2, 1932 to Thomas M. and Helen (Wiskemann) Porter. He worked for many years as a manager for Western Union. Richard moved here from Pennsylvania in 1996. He enjoyed woodworking and has a large collection of musical instruments. He was also a member of 2 local bands: the Ocala Kingdom of the Sun Concert and the Nature Coast Band.
Richard is survived by 2 sons: Richard, Jr. of Florida and Roger (Kim) of New Jersey; 1 daughter: Debra Porter of Florida; and 5 grandchildren: Stacey, Sean and Steven Gibbs and Ryan and Kayla Porter. He is also survived by 1 great granddaughter: Audrey Madeline Gibbs. Richard was preceded in death by his loving wife; Shirley in 2010.
