

Robert E. Bowden, 78, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away Sunday November 9, 2014 in Inverness, Florida surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Saturday February 8, 1936 in Lynn, Massachusetts, to Harry and Lillian (Watson) Bowden. He attended Lynn Public schools and graduated as a machinist from Lynn Vocational High School in 1953.
In 1954, he entered the US Navy and continued his career as a machinist. After his honorable discharge in 1958, he worked in various industries honing his trade. In 2000, he and his wife retired to Citrus Springs but continued to summer in Maine. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and an active member of the men’s association. He was also an inactive member of the Elks. He was a Boston Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics fan and lived and died each year with the Red Sox.

Robert was preceded in death by his father Harry, mother Lillian and sister Eleanor.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Juanita (Fecteau) Bowden; daughter Susan Duffy and husband Stephen; sons, Stephan Bowden and wife Beth, and Scott Bowden and wife Joanne. He is also survived by mother in law Frances Fecteau, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous cousins and friends.
Visitation, Wednesday November 12, 2014 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at Fero Funeral Home. Funeral Mass, Thursday, November 13 at 11:00AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
