Bob was born on December 19, 1946, in New York to George and Jeanne Moffitt. On April 20, 1969, he married the love of his life, Janet, beginning a partnership built on love, hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to family.
Together, Bob and Janet raised two children, Rochelle and Mitchell, and later became proud grandparents to Ian (1994), Amara (1996), Emily (2000), and Sean (2003). In 2025, Bob experienced one of life’s greatest joys when he became a great-grandfather to Alia.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1972 as a Boiler Tech Second Class (BT2). During his service, he collected many stories, including one unforgettable tale involving a “Falcon” that, according to Bob, could never be published.
After leaving the Navy, Bob built a life through determination, grit, and vision. Armed with a van, a tool bag, a pole, a brush, a vacuum, a skimmer, and a dream, he founded RBM Pool Services/Romitch Construction. Side by side, Bob and Janet built their business with blood, sweat, and tears, creating not only a successful company but a legacy of hard work and perseverance.
Anyone who worked with Bob knew his unmistakable style. He could yell when mistakes were made, but those who truly knew him understood the reason why — Bob always believed people were capable of more. He pushed others because he knew they were better than their mistakes and wanted them to prove it to themselves.
Bob’s greatest passion was caring for his family and friends and proudly talking about his grandchildren and great-grandchild to anyone who would listen. Whether he was fixing something around the house, lending a helping hand, playing golf, cooking for those he loved, or simply enjoying time in the water he cherished so much, Bob showed his love through action. He was a devoted provider, teacher, protector, and friend whose strength, kindness, and presence will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, no formal services will be held, as he never wanted anyone to take time away from what they needed to do.
Bob will be deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered always by those fortunate enough to know him.
