Ruby Tolentino Soriano

Ruby was born in Manila, Philippines the daughter of Rufino Tolentino and Rosario Calupitan. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomas with medical degree at the age of 21. She emigrated to US in 1959 for her internship at Coney Island Hospital in New York.

In 1960 she moved to Pueblo, Colorado for her residency in Psychiatry. There she met and married her beloved husband, Fortun, after a whirlwind courtship.

She moved to Columbus, Ohio to complete her residency at Columbus State Hospital and worked for North Central Mental Health Services as Psychiatrist and a Medical Director. She enjoyed tennis, gardening, ballroom dancing, music, playing piano, traveling and collecting dolls, shells and other mementos.

She retired in 1999 and moved with her ever loving husband to Citrus Hills, FL.

She is survived by her husband Fortunato Madrigal Soriano, MD, children Fortunato (Sonya) Soriano Jr. of Clearwater, FL, Roderick Soriano of Columbus, OH, Ronald Soriano of Columbus, OH, Ruth (Kenneth) McGowan of Harrison City, PA, and Richard Soriano of Columbus, OH. She was a proud Lola (grandmother) of Ryan, Cullen, and Casey McGowan and Marisa Soriano. She was a much loved sister of Rosal T. Vinluan of Quezon City P.I. and Raceli T. Camins of Pinole, CA. She was preceded in death her brother Rodolfo Tolentino, sisters Rosalinda Rodriguez and Riorita Tolentino.

The family will welcome friends on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fero Funeral Home at 5955 North Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.

The Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Fero Memorial Gardens.
