Albert Frank Carrato

Albert Frank Carrato, age 86, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023. He was a former long time California resident and retired Master Chief Petty Officer - Albert aka Poppy was a jack of all trades! He loved a good bowl of spaghetti, drawing, swimming and refurbishing antiques. He was very proud of his Italian heritage, his hair, and especially of his work ethic. He never gave up on anything! He loved his family deeply! He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Carrato; brother, Leonard Carrato; and parents, Emilia and Frank Carrato. He is survived by his sons, Jeff and Chris Carrato; step-daughter, Robin Frankland (Steve); step-sons, Edward Hall (Michelle) and Hap Hall (Kimberly); granddaughter, Victoria Carrato Reed (Shane); step-grandchildren, Valyn, Lindsey, Aaron, Jacob, Lucas, Trenton and Morgan; great-grandchildren, MaKayla, Melodi, Beckham & Baylor; and step great-grandchildren, Cataleya, Sunshine, Phillip & Samuel. There will be a graveside service on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Alabama National Cemetery beginning at 1:15 PM.
