

Mary “Angelin” Brimner Lance age 97 of Ohatchee passed away Monday, June 11, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cotter Lance; parents, George Frederick Brimner and Ruth Lester Brimner Montgomery; and brother, George Frederick Brimner, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Judy L. Hayes (Bobby); son, John Lance (Marcia); daughter, Joy L. Jones (Dale); five grandchildren, Robert Hayes (Kim), Connie H. Nolen (Jerry), Ricky Hayes (Joni),J.C. (Kerry) Lance and Misty (Bryan) Griffith; 13 great grandchildren, Patricia Judith Hayes, Tiffeny Hayes, Will Hayes, Georgia Nolen, Justin Nolen, Faith Nolen, Robert Hayes, Kristen Hayes, Connor Hayes, Jacob Lance, Arianna Wilson, Jada and Zara Griffith; sister, Kathryn “Ruth “ Brimner Dawson Davidson; brother, Eugene Jackson “Jack” Brimner (Zelma): a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was a graduate of Ensley High School class of 1931. She was a member and officer of the Birmingham Ladies FOP Lodge #1. She retired from the Social Security Administration Birmingham office in 1980. She was a Member and officer of Sunset Rock Chapter of the ASDAR, as well as member of the Butler County Historical Society and Genealogical Society, Anniston Alabama Benton Society, and a volunteer RSVP of Calhoun. Mrs. Lance of the Senior Citizens Center, Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Ohatchee, and the ladies IV Sunday school Class LLL. She was a Volunteer for the local schools helping kids with their learning skills and a volunteer at the local Social Security Office helping people write out income tax forms for financial aid. She traveled many places with family and friends. Visitation will be Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00 am at Oak Bowery Baptist Church in Ohatchee, Alabama with service at 11:00 am. Mother will be buried in Elmwood Cemetery next to her beloved husband, James Cotter Lance.
