BURGESS, ANNA CHARLES 85, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2013 peacefully in her home in Port St. Lucie, Florida. She is survived by her sons, Larry Stephen Burgess and his wife, Charline and Charles Lee Burgess of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandchildren, Renee Burgess and spouse, Gerard of Tampa, FL; Stephanie Halcomb and spouse Robie of Collierville, TENN; Tate Webb and spouse Claudia, of Vernon, FL; and Ty Webb of Port St. Lucie, FL; and four great grandchildren; Sister, Reba Carolyn Rickles and spouse, Joe of West Palm Beach, FL; She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Lee Burgess; Father, Johnny Floyd Pitts; Mother, Gladys B. Pitts; She was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama until she relocated to Panama City Beach, FL in 1965, where she owned and operated The Heritage Inn, Sunny Sands and Bel-Air Motels. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held with a viewing and family greeting in the Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham, AL on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 beginning at 12:00 PM followed by a graveside service at 2:00 PM in the Elmwood Cemetery.
