Barbara Dunn Edwards, 90 , passed away peacefully Friday, January 3, 2025 at her home with family. She was born March 18, 1934 in Mobile, AL to the late Horace Dunn and Aliene Dasher Dunn. Barbara attended the University of Alabama where she became engaged to Donald Edwards. She was a member of Briarwood Presbyterian Church and professed her faith in Jesus Christ at a very early age. Barbara was a full time wife and mother and loved playing bridge. After the children left home she had a very successful career in Home Furnishings.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Fuhrman Edwards, her son Lynn Dunn Edwards, her son Lawrence Odom Edwards.
Barbara is survived by her son Leigh Fuhrman Edwards (Cindy) and daughter Donna Aliene Edwards all of Birmingham, 2 grandchildren, William Ellis Edwards of Oklahoma, Alexandria Nicole Edwards of Florida, 3 great grandchildren Aidenn, Dylan, Sawyer Edwards. Also surviving is her brother, Joseph E. Dunn, nephew Bryant Dunn(Michelle)
Funeral services will take place Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Chapel, 800 Dennison Avenue, Birmingham, Alabama with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
Remembrances may be made to Briarwood Presbyterian Church.
