Benjamin G Smith

age 85 of Birmingham passed away Wednesday April 20, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Smith; his parents, Lyman and Ruth Smith; and sister, Miriam Horton. He is survived by his sons, Grayson Smith (Barbara) and Zeke Smith (Darlene); brother Jim Smith (Jane); grandchildren Brooke Rhodes (Chris), Laura Phillips (Derek), Drew Smith (Megan), Heather Turner (Andrew) and Lindsey Smith; great-grandsons, Chandler Rhodes and Beckett Turner and soon to arrive Micah Smith; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Bennie enjoyed a long career in the pharmaceutical industry spanning close to 50 years and retired from Walker Drug. He was a longstanding member of First Baptist Church of Roebuck Plaza and loved his community serving it well. He was a member and leader of the Roebuck Plaza Lions Club for many years. Bennie especially enjoyed time at the lake fishing and following Auburn sports. His family will receive friends on Friday, April 22, 2016 from 1-2 pm at Rideout's Trussville Chapel with his service beginning at 2 pm.age 85 of Birmingham passed away Wednesday April 20, 2016.
