Bernice Mitchell Schoen, age 87, passed away on June 12, 2014. She was a member of East Lake United Methodist church, and served in the East Lake community for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Fred Schoen. She is survived by her sister, Eunice Evans; sons, Richard (Kim), Ron (Debbie), Mike (Sarah), and Cliff (Marcia); her dear friend, Robert Montgomery, as well as eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and numerous other extended family members. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014, from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Ridout's Trussville. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at 11:00 am at Ridout's Trussville. A private burial will be held for the family prior to the service. H. L. Ward is officiating. Ridout's Trussville is directing.
