TOMLIN, BOBBY RAY, age 71 of Birmingham, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021. He was preceded by his parents, Dovie and Richard Eugene Tomlin; and brother, Gene Tomlin. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kay D. Tomlin; children, Susan Mitchell (Chris), Chace Ray Tomlin (Becky) and Traland Lee Tomlin (Jenna Lee Higgins); sister, Mary Ann Austin (Jim); grandchildren,Shaler Kathleen Mitchell, Graden Christopher Mitchell, Stratton Lee Tomlin, Styles Leigh Tomlin, Stone Louis Tomlin and Milly Charles Tomlin; and beloved pets, Honey and Little Bit. Bobby grew up in the Roebuck area and was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Tomlin Excavating Co. Inc. for 43 years and enjoyed spending time at the lake with family and friends. His family will celebrate his life with visitation from 1-2 on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel with his service beginning at 2:00. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, Code of Vets or another agency that assists veterans.
