PARKER, BRENDA P. 68, of Birmingham, Alabama died April 15, 2012. She was born in Gadsden, Alabama September 16, 1943 and raised in Grant, Alabama and throughout Army Bases all over the United States, including Fort Hood Texas and Oahu Hawaii. She graduated in 1961 from DAR High School in Grant, Alabama. Brenda was married to Robert "Bob" Parker from Birmingham, Alabama who preceded her in death in 1997. She worked for the American Red Cross and BE&K throughout the 1970's and 80's and later owned her own business. Until her illness in 2008, Brenda loved to travel, especially to England to visit her daughter and grandchildren, she also enjoyed socializing and taking trips to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and anywhere she could play Blackjack. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter Suzanne Schrimsher in 2000 and is survived by a daughter Lori Parker Berryman of Austin, Texas, 4 grandchildren; Elizabeth Berryman, Lucas Berryman, Isabella Berryman of Austin Texas and Sarah Schrimsher and one great grandchild Michaela Suzanne Carrigg, both of Huntsville, Alabama Services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 1:00 pm, at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
