Camille Butrus

Butrus, Paul Richard, age 71, resident of Mountain Brook, passed away on August 18, 2012.  Born on October 26, 1940 in Birmingham to Jacob and Ida Butrus, he was preceded in death by his parents and by his son Kevin Richard Butrus.   He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Camille, his son Gregory Paul (Annie Kammerer Butrus), four grandchildren (John Paul, Thomas Kevin, Julia Hamilton, and Kathryn Camille Butrus), his sister Christy Blandford (Pete), his aunt Selema Rookis, and his mother-in-law Alma Apperson Stein as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.   He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.  For over three decades, he enjoyed a distinguished business career with ProAssurance, serving as a senior officer and the Vice-Chairman of its Board of Directors.  He was also involved with other health-related businesses.  He was a life-long member of Saint Elias Maronite Catholic Church.   The visitation will be on Monday, August 20 from 5 to 7 pm with rosary to follow, and the funeral mass will be on Tuesday, August 21 at 10 am.  Both will be held at Saint Elias Maronite Catholic Church, 836 8th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205, (205) 252-3867.   Memorials may be made to the Kevin Butrus Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham, 2100 1st Avenue North, Suite 700, Birmingham, AL 35203, (205) 327-3800; Saint Elias Maronite Catholic Church; or to a charity of your choice.
