Carolyn G. Harry

If you have known Carolyn for any length of time, you know her random collection of quotes is a prize and hobby of hers. Walk around the home and you’ll see them taped to the fridge, lying on the tables, and inserted in her devotion and bible. This was peeled from the fridge, “No matter what you are feeling, stand on what you know is right according to the Word of God.”

Carolyn would never pretend to be perfect. She would never say she knew all the answers. Her intention was never to hurt. She instead pushed and pulled her kids towards greatness, encouraged and demanded education to be a priority, and drove her entire family to recognize what a privilege each had.

Carolyn’s life was full. She was surrounded by a large family, hosts of friends from church, and friends as close as family who laughed and served this community in more ways than one could imagine. She traveled the world with her family and lifelong friend, Martha Smith whom she lost in 2017. While many of years friends have crossed the Jordan before her, she is now standing and waiting on her loved ones to arrive.

Some of those who are standing with her on that shore are her parents Ather Lee Green and Ethel Lean Pope, of Hamilton, as well as her sister Laura Geneva DuLaney also of Hamilton.

Those left to continue her legacy are a husband of almost 60 years Charles Mack Harry and her ‘boys’ and wives Charles Michael (Dale), Jeffery Scott (Lee Ann), Clifford Mark (Tina), and John David (Laura). Filling the hall with laughter would be her grandchildren: Lauren Elizabeth Kimbrell, Lindsey Elise Bone, Andrew Michael Harry, Wesley Scott Harry, Taylor Justin Harry, Chase Bradford Harry, Christian Alexander Harry, Meghan Alexis Stettner, Joseph Pierce Donze, and Emily Megan Mayo. Add to that some of the most precious great-grands the world knows. Living life by her side were precious siblings Norma Lee Pierce (Edsel), Brenda Gail Elliott (Jimmy), and Stanley Wayne Green (Dwanna).

What a legacy?! What a beautiful life?!

.Services will be held on Thursday, November 21st at Ridout's Trussville Chapel at 2 PM and visitation one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville.
