Charles Lee Daniels Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and loyal friend passed away peacefully to meet his Heavenly Father on Saturday Aug 7, 2021 at 84 years of age. His life was a legacy of caring acts for others, sincere leadership, extending kind words to all he met, genuine gentlemanly character, offering a positive outlook and sustaining memories and laughter. He was orange and blue through and through as well as any other SEC team which he supported as he avidly followed his son’s coaching career.
He was a Birmingham, AL resident, proudly served with the US Army Reserves from 1957-1964 and graduated from Auburn University. As he entered heavens gates, his family is certain there was a joyful reunion with his parents, Edna Harper Daniels and Charles Daniels Sr, his sister Virginia Sartain, his longtime friends John Little and Tommy Holmes and a host of other family and friends. He is survived by the love of his life, Juanita for 64 years, as well as a daughter Nancy Gray (Gary) and his son, Jeff Daniels (Robbie). His grandchildren Andrew, MaKenzie, Grant, Gary and Nick have been the apple of his eye along with 4 great-grandchildren. The family would ask that the next time you eat a roll from Texas Roadhouse or cheese biscuit from Jim n Nicks that you remember Charlie for his love of bread, his ministry of life through Christ and the beautiful legacies he left with us all.
Visitation with the family is at 10:00a on Weds Aug 11 and a celebration of life beginning at 11:00a at John Ridout’s Trussville Chapel Funeral Home. There will be private burial with family following the service.
The family would also request that in lieu of flowers that you would consider making a donation in Charlie’s name to The Alzheimer’s Association of Central Alabama www.alzca.org or The Wounded Warrior Project
The family is humbled by the compassionate services from the many nurses at Shelby County Baptist Hospital, Palliative Care and Comfort Care Hospice and are extremely grateful for their unwavering care.
