Charles W. McClendon 84 died on December 7, 2015. Charles was born on March 17, 1931 to Pearlie Ethel McClendon and Wallace McClendon. He was a resident of Shannon, AL and a member of Shannon Baptist Church. Charles was a construction worker and worked in several states primarily with Vepco electric in the state of Virginia. He was also president of local #78 in Birmingham in the “60’s.” He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Evelyn McClendon. He is survived by his son Charles D. McClendon of Lynchburg, VA; daughter Sherry (Tag) Quinn & husband James of Harpersville, AL; granddaughter Sabrina of Brooklyn N. Y; three sisters Helen Woods of Altoona AL, Billie Jo Strong of Springville, AL and Eyvonna Rich of Gadsden AL and his dear friend and caregiver Dianne Henderson of Shannon, AL. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10 am to 11 am at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with funeral services following at 11 am. Burial will be Bethlehem Baptist Church in Gallant, AL.
