Craig showed immeasurable strength in his 12 year long battle with cancer. He was born on June 22nd, 1961, in Birmingham, Alabama to Melvin Purvis and Frances Blackwell Purvis. He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother, Tim Purvis. Survived by his wife of 34 years, Tonya Sue Brand Purvis; daughters, Candice Marie Purvis and Brittany Nicole Purvis; his grandchildren - Katie Marie Chandler, Cody James Purvis, and Dylan Jacob Peterson; his sister, Karen Harris (Ed); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Craig starts at 10:00 am and the Funeral service starts at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 16th, 2025 at Johns- Ridout’s Mortuary- Elmwood Chapel. He will be buried at the Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.
