She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Margaret Fisher. She is survived by Joe, her loving husband of over 52 years; son Brian and daughter Carmella Lively; grandsons Hunter and Josh Lively; brother Joe Thomas Fisher (Jane) of California; sisters Martha Martin and Mitzie Wentworth of Birmingham; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
After graduating from Bessemer High School, she worked at Parisian Department Store for many years where she served as head of various departments until deciding to remain at home for a few years. Then, for more than 20 years she worked at the Outpatient Care Center in Birmingham until retirement.
She never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone who needed help. She loved working beside her husband Joe as they catered various events. She loved having family near and would delight in preparing meals for them. She enjoyed working and socializing with friends in the Ladies Altar Guild at St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Italian American Heritage Society. She particularly enjoyed working with others to prepare the St. Joseph Altar. After experiencing several trips to Italy and spending time with Joe's family in Sicily, she dreamed of returning to Sicily to live.
Although she experienced failing health in the last two years while undergoing kidney dialysis, she never complained and kept a positive attitude while celebrating life.
