David Edward DeRoncey, age 28 a resident of Grayson Valley, passed away on November 25, 2012 in Birmingham, as a victim of a senseless crime. He was born in Birmingham, AL on August 13, 1984. He was a very warm and loving husband. He loved life, his bass and his wife. He had an elaborate personality, and was a total goofball. His mind worked like no other. He was sporadic, full of life, romantic, and strong willed. He would say what he thought (when he thought it), and for the most part act on how he felt, as the emotion arised. He loved to learn about all things, history, science, psychology, you name it. He was very talented in car audio which was his hobby and a passion. He is survived by his wife Ashley DeRoncey; mother and step father, Melissa and Chad Mathias; father, Michael Edward DeRoncey; step parents, Michael and Heather Lawrence; grandparents, Jack and Verna Chapman, and Jack and Martha DeRoncey; sisters, Christina Lawrence and Meagan Mathias; aunts, Kristi Julian and Karen Gantenbein. Visitation will be Friday, November 30, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11 AM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery. On Sunday, December 2, 2012 at 2 PM at Tom Bradford Park on Edwards Lake Road, Rides United will host a car and truck meet to show their respect for David, one of their own. All riders please come and show your support.
