

David Charles Hall was born October 25, 1920, to Charles Britton Hall and Laura Emma Morris Hall of Anniston , AL. He passed away January 3, 2016, at South Baldwin Memorial Hospital in Foley, AL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Josephine Armstrong Hall, after 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his daughter Judith Ann (Larry) Morgan of Foley, AL, grandson David Wade Morgan of Gulf Shores, AL, a sister Martha Stephens of Anniston, AL, a brother Morris (Wanda) Hall of St. Petersburg, FL, a sister-in-law Dawn Hall of Ft. Worth, TX and nieces and nephews in FL, AL, TX and Australia. David served in World War II, as a Staff Sergeant of the Third Airdrome Squadron Army Air Forces serving in the Asiatic-Pacific theater. After the surrender of Japan, his unit was the first to enter Japan to set up operations at Atsugi Air Base. Following his service, he went to work for South Central Bell then AT&T and retired as an engineer after 38 years. After retirement, he and Helen enjoyed traveling around the country and were active in the Huffman Baptist Church for 50 years. He spent the last 3 ½ years as a resident of Foley, AL where he was a member of the Senior Center and participated in its many activities including ball room dancing. He also enjoyed exercising at the YMCA . He lived in the community of Glenlakes and attended Peace Lutheran Church. The family would like to thank South Baldwin Regional Home Health and Community Hospice for their loving assistance. Services will be held on February 9th at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Road with burial at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 9 am, and the service will follow at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to Huffman Baptist Church, 700 Huffman Road, Birmingham, AL 35215, in memory of David Hall.
