Mr Donald Charles Hill born in Pletcher, ALabama on May 14, 1941 and left this Earth for the most beautiful heavenly welcome on April 5, 2026. He was promptly reunited with his brothers Roger Dale and Wayne, and the most loving parents, Charles Andrew Hill and Eula Mae Milford Hill and his step-mother, Mackie Faye Farris Hill.
Don, as he was called by most, was loved by everyone he came in contact with. He made sure everyone he loved was taken care of and taught them lessons along the way. He and his brother Roger Dale shared a bond that words can scarcely capture, living side by side until Roger Dale's earthly passing- truly inseparable in life and now reunited beyond it. Not ever a father but loved all children. His nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and his great great nieces and nephews that were around him felt that love deeply. He was a jungle gym for all kids swinging them on his arms, arm wrestling with them and delighting everyone with his unforgettable Donald Duck voice.
A man who worked for 70ish years- first getting to travel and see a lot of the United States as a trucker driver with W. A. Belcher Lumber for 30 years working alongside his dad, brother and even incorporating some assistance from his nieces and nephews. After Belcher, the Hill crew went over and became part of the Consolidated Pipe family working there for 34 years. Jeff and Don and the rest of their staff can still tell stories of Don and Chief Pawpaw. Even employees that never worked with him personally recognized him during visits, often saying, "I know who you are." That recognition spoke volumes about the presence Don carried and the legacy he left behind.
Almost as great as his love for family was his passion for bowling. He bowled far and wide, flying to tournaments in Las Vegas and road-tripping with friends to competitions in South Florida. Bowling for many years at Holiday Bowl, spending time with his Uncle Buster and Aunt Doris Milford. He shared a close bond with Buster and Doris that lasted until their final days. Visiting with them for Alabama football games and dinner dates with their nieces and nephews.
Donald, Don, Uncle D, Unc, Spider, Boss, no matter what he was known as to each person he surely meant the world to so many. His kindness, strength, humor, and unwavering love have left a permanent imprint on the hearts of all who knew him.
