Donald “Donnie” James McQueen, age 64 of Trussville, Al passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021. Donnie was a special and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. He graduated from Woodlawn High School and was a member of St. Clements and St. Barnabas Catholic Church all his life. He worked in the grocery business for more than 43 years at Liberty Supermarket, Bruno’s, Winn-Dixie, and the Piggly Wiggly in Clay where he worked with his brother, Patrick. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Patricia McQueen; grandparents, A.D. and Evelyn McQueen and also Arthur and Rose Schultz; and his brother-in-law, John F. Hill. He is survived by his sister, Roselle McQueen Hill; brothers, Bill McQueen (Peggy), Kenny McQueen, and Patrick McQueen; his uncle, John McQueen (Diana) and aunts, Doris McQueen Booker (Ron) and Linda McQueen; nieces, Monica Hill Thach (Brandon), Amanda McQueen Calvert (Joel), and Jessica McQueen Hardin (Chris); and 8 great nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 20th at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville with visitation from 10 to 11 am followed by Mass at 11am. Interment will conclude in Forest Hill Cemetery.
