She was preceded in death by her father John Overton Stroud Sr, her mother Ludie Stroud, her four brothers John Overton Stroud Jr (Gladys), Sam Stroud (Bea), Charles Stroud (Claudia) Jack Stroud (Marie) and her sister Betty Stroud Wolf (Cody).
She is survived by her nephew Ronald S Stroud,MD ( Bonnie), niece Daris Thompson of Fallon Nv, niece Charlene Brown along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Following schooling she went to work for Southern Bell later AT&T for some 42 years. In retirement she loved to travel with her friends. She chose to deny herself many luxuries preferring to care for her family. She was a big supporter of Birmingham Humane Society. She had wonderful neighbors which the family cannot thank enough for the care they rendered. She was a life long member of the Pioneers Club related to her years with AT&T.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Birmingham Humane Society and Presbyterian Children’s Charities.
