

Duncan Floyd “Butch” McLean, age 75, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020. Butch was born on July 3, 1944, in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents, David Wilton and Clara Foulk McLean, and brother David. Jr. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Yukie McLean; daughter, Amanda Mink (Bruce); grandchildren, Avalyn “Ava” and Mackenzie Mink; brother, Eugene McLean; sister-in-law, Mary McLean; and a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Butch will be sorely missed.
Butch was a sweet, kind, and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who had a loving heart and precious soul. He loved antiquing, auctions, and bringing home treasures from all over. He enjoyed traveling with his family and found Napa Valley, California to be one of his favorite vacation spots. Few things gave him more pleasure than a good glass of old wine and a hearty meal. He loved Alabama football and UAB and N.C. State basketball. And, he served his country in the United States Air Force.
A graveside celebration of life will be private for immediate family, but will be broadcast at the link below on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Due to the concerns surrounding Covid-19, and in compliance with city and county ordinances, social distancing is required.
