Edna Faye George

Edna “Faye” Benefield George (92) of Trafford, Al went to be with the Lord January 4, 2025. She was born to the late William Raymond and Alma Benefield on December 16, 1932. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Crawford Emory George and daughters Linda George and late Nancy George. She was survived by her daughter Brenda Worsham; Grandchildren Steven Crocker (Danna), Heather Corley (Patrick), Ian George, Lee George (Jessica), Ashley Dickinson (Shane) and Makayla Sewell; Great-Grandchildren to Bryanna Crocker (Walter), Ash Crocker, Mattie Crocker (Dylan), Jensen Corley, Danielle George, Caden George, Olivia Landrum and Victorie Landrum, Tiffany Dickinson and Carlee (Henrique) Barros); the Great-Great Grandchildren AJ Chatiginer, JC Couch, Dallas Green, and Naomi Landrum, Wade Wallace and Violet Wallace; as well as the sister, aunt, loved one and sister in Christ to many relatives and friends.

As a devout Christian Faye loved to serve the Lord and was a former Sunday School and vacation bible school teacher and member of the training union and WMU at Hilldale Baptist Church and served at many churches over her lifetime service to the Lord with her beloved husband. As the loving matriarch of the family, she filled Christmas with peanut butter balls and felt ornaments she made with her grandchildren. She was a sports lover and avid Alabama fan introducing the love of sports to her grandchildren and would always share her wisdom and love with those around her. Faye is greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all the lives she has touched.

A visitation for Edna will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
