Eleanor Gene Monfee Berry, 96 of Hoover, AL, passed away on December 22, 2025. She was born on August 9, 1929 and spent her childhood in Pratt City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Mason Monfee, Sr. and Louise Stoves Monfee, and her brother, Andrew Mason Monfee, Jr. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Hagler (Ted); a son, Corlis Berry (Bennie Jo); four grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She worked in the Admitting Office South Highlands Hospital. She was active in several religious and social organizations.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, in the Mouat Chapel of Trinity United Methodist Church, 1400 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and service will start at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
