SMITH, ELIZABETH ROANN, age 97 of Birmingham, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh M. Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Thorn (Jerry) and Dinah Bates; grandchildren, Jeff Thorn, Brian Thorn (Suzanne), Andrea Click (James), Rodney Bates (Susan), Greg Bates (Kristi) and Daniel Bates (Katie); great-grandchildren, Sydney Thorn, Aiden and Emmersyn Click, and Brody, Drew, Emily, Molly, Hudson, Kaitlyn and Cody Bates. Elizabeth was born and raised in Blountsville, AL and a member of Center Point United Methodist Church. She was very much loved by her family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored their “Mamaw”. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Her service will be at the chapel on Thursday, October 23, 2014 beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Blountsville Cemetery.
