Eugenia “Genie" Aulisio Santagata

Eugenia “Genie” Aulisio Santagata, age 76, of Trussville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Genie was born July 18, 1945 to the late Gene and Mary (Sorge) Aulisio. Although she spent her early years as a school teacher, her true calling was raising her children. She was an exceptional wife, mother and Gigi; a homemaker in the true sense of the word. Our home was filled with love because of her selfless devotion to our family. She was gifted in so many ways, but notably in her creativity. She shared that gift generously and freely with others, always without expectation.

Besides her husband of 54 years, Rich Santagata, whom she married August 5, 1967, she will be remembered lovingly by a son, Richard Santagata of Hoover, AL.; a daughter, Jennifer (Justin) Graham of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren, Drea Santagata, Rocco Graham and Marin Graham; a brother, Jerry Aulisio; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, November 18, 2021 at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church in Trussville, AL. Friends may visit Thursday morning, November 18 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to mass.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Children’s Village or the Lovelady Center.
