Frances Bales Alderson

Frances Bales Alderson February 7, 1939 - March 11, 2023 passed away on March 11, 2023 after fighting a battle with Cancer the last 2 years. She was born in Elmhurst, IL and had 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She moved to AL in her early 20's. She was a bookkeeper for McVoy-Hausman for many years and that is where she met and fell in love with our father George Edward Alderson, Jr. Fran had a love for her family, gardening, spending time at the LGYC (Lake Guntersville Yacht Club) with friends and Christmas was a favorite.

She is preceded in death by her husband George Edward Alderson, Jr. and her son Robert Matthew Alderson. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Alderson Ingram (Jon), grandson Maxwell Clark Deason, daughter Susan Alderson Rutledge (Kimbo), granddaughter Jessica Blackburn Hall, grandson George Daniel Blackburn (Meghan), granddaughter Lindsey Blackburn Justice (John), son James Edward Alderson (Rene'), grandson James Edward Alderson, Jr., and grandson William Bryant Alderson. She is also survived by one brother Stan Bales and one sister Ann Reese. She also has great grandchildren and more nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews than we can count.

A visitation for Frances will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 from 10am until 11am in the Celebration Chapel at Elmwood Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will follow at 11, with burial at Birmingham’s historic Elmwood Cemetery in block 24.
