Frances “Libby” Douglas age 94 of Mt. Brook passed away Monday, May 21, 2012. She was a 1936 graduate of Shades Cahaba High School in Homewood. Libby ran the family business, Atlas Furniture for more than sixty years. She loved to travel and enjoyed music, especially, Dean Martin and Elvis. Libby was preceded in death by her son, Robert “Bob” D. Fitts. She is survived by her brother, Paul Goins; grandchildren, Bob (Betsy) Fitts, Dan (Melissa) Fitts, and Cindy Fitts; and four great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Elmwood Chapel at 10:30 pm for procession to the cemetery.
