Frances Magdalene Lancaster a long-time resident of Birmingham passed away in Cullman on Saturday November 25, 2017. She was born in Montevallo, Alabama to Wesley & Jewel Frost. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Alva Lancaster. She is survived by her daughters Shirley Johnson (Robert "Bob") of Cullman and Carole Tidwell (Connie L.) of Oneonta. She is survived by her grandchildren Robert Johnson of Cullman, Nena Johnson Locasio of Tuscaloosa, Stephanie Tidwell Pocus of Oneonta and John Tidwell of Huntsville. She is also survived by her great- grandchildren Kramer and Jessica Johnson of Cullman, Savannah and Austin Tidwell of Huntsville and great-great children Sofia and Vivian Locasio. Magdalene graduated from Ensley High School. During WWII, Magdalene joined the workforce at Bechtel-McCone Aircraft. After the war, she worked for Western Union in downtown Birmingham until her retirement in the mid 1980's. Magdalene was a member of the Leisure Club of Midfield. For family and friends who knew her, Magdalene's passing has left a place that can never be filled. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at Elmwood Chapel from 1:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. Rev. Dale Moore will officiate.
