Mr. Gene Grey Wilkinson, age 83, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Shelby Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents; George Luther Wilkinson and Minnie Grey Hudson, his wife; Neta Jane Price and a daughter; Wendy Leigh Wilkinson. He is survived by his grandson; David Grey Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson graduated from Evergreen High School in the class of 1955 then went on to Cincinnati College of Embalming and graduated March 28, 1958. He retired from the United States Army as a Command Sergeant Major with the 109th Evacuation Hospital after serving 43 years. He is also retired from the Jefferson County Building Inspection Department. A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 10:00am-11:00am at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW. Birmingham, AL. 35211 with a graveside service to follow at 11:00am in Elmwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Rev Jim Auchmuty will be officiating.
