
He is survived by his mother Polly Husband and sister Sarah Crocker.
Mr. Husband was employed by ACK Electronics for over 34 years; he was also the President of Alarms Plus, INC for the past 20 years. He was active in The Amateur Radio Community and was licensed as an extra class radio operator-KC40IT. One of Mike’s great passions was Search and Rescue and Emergency Services. He was a member of the 117th ANG Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol and Headquarters, Alabama Civil Air Patrol. He was LT. COL in the CAP Alabama Wing, Civil Air Patrol. He was a graduate of the USAF/USCG National Search & Rescue School and the USAF Rescue Coordination Center Search & Rescue course, the CAP Corporate Learning Course and CAP Squadron Leadership School. He executed the following duties in his service, Civil Air Patrol Crisis Control Center Augmentee, Emergency Service Officer, Alabama Wing Search and Rescue officer, Alabama Wing. He was the recipient of the Exceptional Service Award, National Commanders Commendation, Commanders Commendation/4clasp, Unit Citation, Red Service Ribbon, Find Ribbon w/clasp, and Encampment Ribbon w/3clasp. His Civil Air Patrol Mission Ratings consisted of Incident Commander, Observer (Aircrew), Master Ground Operations, Master Communications and Master Emergency Services.
Graveside Service will be Tuesday September 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Forest Hill Cemetery with Ridout’s Trussville Chapel Directing. The family will receive friends at Ridout’s Trussville Monday evening September 29, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM.
