

Geraldine Heath Kyle was born in Birmingham on September 7, 1933, to Raymond and Eula Mae Heath. Geri attended West End High School and then graduated from Howard College with a music degree. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dewey, and faithfully served alongside him in music ministry at churches in Lanett, Alabama, Owensboro, Kentucky, and Birmingham, Alabama. She was married to Dewey for 69 ½ years. In those busy and happy years, she was mother to four children, taught kindergarten music, as well as private piano lessons, served as church organist, played for numerous weddings and funerals, and chaperoned and accompanied youth choir tours abroad and at home. Geri was a gracious hostess, eternal optimist, and lived out her deep faith in the Lord every day. She was a “people person.” She was known for her delicious potato salad and cornbread earning her the reputation of being a wonderful cook.
Geri is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey and her son, Jimmy. She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Tice (Barry), Becky Lander (Roger), and Susan Dennan (Doug); eight grandchildren, Russ, Luke, Matthew, Kyle, Andrew, Emily, Jessica, and Tiffany; eight great grandchildren, Ava, Mary, Joy, Lucy, Millie, Lily, Fletcher, and Benton; and two nephews, Mike and Greg; great nephew, Heath; and great nieces, Haley and Hannah.
Visitation will be at 1:00 followed by a 2:00 funeral service at Elmwood Chapel on Wednesday, August 6. In lieu of flowers, if you would like, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association or Samaritan’s Purse in her honor.
